FINALLY! The Society is Returning to Pre-Pandemic Hours
Starting Tuesday, May 4th, the Society will be open for visitors! We will resume our pre-pandemic hours (Tuesday and Friday, 9-3; Thursday, 1-7:30; and Saturday, 9-11:30). Masks and social distancing will still be required. Please come visit and help us all stay healthy!

Weather
As winter weather continues to disrupt us here in Columbia County, it would be safer to call the Society first to make sure someone is there before trying to visit us, 570-784-1600. Our hours continue to be Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10-2, by appointment.

2021 CCHGS Calendar
The new 2021 CCHGS is chock full of interesting local photographs and historical tidbits! We have them in stock now and can be purchased for $12 from our website (under Shop Now>Publications). Or contact the Society and pick one up!

We will again be publishing a calendar full of great historical photos from around the area. Call the Society to get your name on the list for one of these great calendars for 2021!
Additional hours open
Effective immediately, the Society is now also open on Thursdays, from 10am to 2pm. Just call during those hours or email the Society to arrange a one or two-hour appointment to visit us.
WE ARE OPENING! Sorta.
We will have a soft opening at the Society by appointment only. We will be open on Tuesdays, with 2-hr appointment blocks: 10am-noon and noon-2pm. Contact the Society via email: [email protected] to schedule your appointment.
The Society is closed due to the coronavirus! We follow the schedule of the Bloomsburg Public Library for closings and will remain closed as long as they do. Currently that is until March 29th.

Holiday Closing
The Society will be closed for the holidays from Tuesday, December 24, 2019 through Wednesday, January 1, 2020. We will reopen on Thursday, January 2nd. Happy holidays!

Thanksgiving Closing

Records Added!
1852-54 marriages for Columbia, Montour, Luzerne, Lycoming and Schuylkill counties were added recently, 42 records in all. Also posted last month were 81 new photo descriptions. Make sure to check back regularly to see if any of your ancestors have “arrived”!
